Fronde Anywhere wins leading Australian software product award

8 May 2008

Fronde Anywhere’s TwoSecure™ solution was the only New Zealand software product to win a 2008 Consensus Software Award, one of Australia’s most prestigious technology awards. The Awards recognise innovative software products with both the proven performance and the market potential to succeed internationally. All entrants must undergo a rigorous judging process which includes shortlisted nominees presenting to a panel of 10 international judges from a range of disciplines.

The Consensus judges said:

“TwoSecure™  is an exciting new product with the potential to replace the myriad of token generating devices popular in the operation of many popular Internet and private enterprise remote access applications. Based on any java enabled modern mobile phone, it has the opportunity to enable "one stop" access without replacing any of the security systems already in place. Instead of carrying several tokens to access Internet banking, or enterprise VPNs, this solution could effectively support effective token generation on an individual's familiar mobile phone.”

Fronde Anywhere’s entry was supported by IBM’s business partner teams in Australia and New Zealand who have contributed significantly into the international success of TwoSecure™  by providing validation for the product’s performance via access to the IBM Innovation labs for performance testing and benchmarking.

Caroline Dewe, CEO of Fronde Anywhere comments that “we see this technology having the potential to change the face of the identity management industry. With banking regulatory bodies around the world starting to mandate that banks implement some form of multi factor authentication in order to protect customer’s identities and funds. TwoSecure™ is ideally placed to meet a very strong and growing market need."

The winners were announced in Sydney this week.

Fronde and Kiwibank win “Mobile Application of the Year” at TUANZ Innovation Awards 2007

11 October 2007

Kiwibank and Fronde are honoured to be awarded the TUANZ "Mobile Application of the Year" award for Kiwibank’s mobile banking solution.

Judging was based on several criteria, including achievement and impact of innovation, technical achievement, usability of application and results.

When it was launched in 2006, Kiwibank’s mobile banking application was the first of its kind in New Zealand and included features not previously available anywhere in the world. It broke new ground in offering New Zealanders, for the first time, the ability to make real-time banking transactions from their mobile phone.

Caroline Dewe, Director of Products and Marketing for Fronde Anywhere says “Kiwibank has lead the world with its first to market deployment for mobile banking. The partnership between Fronde Anywhere and Kiwibank has provided an excellent springboard for Fronde Anywhere’s international market expansion plans for our mobile banking platform, and it is wonderful to receive this recognition in New Zealand for local innovation."

The TUANZ Innovation awards have been running for sixteen years and recognise and reward New Zealand innovation in telecommunications. All of the Awards are presented to products or services originating or provided in New Zealand.

TXT-a-Park™ shortlisted for the TUANZ Innovation Awards 2006

23 August 2006

The TxT-a-Park™ solution provided by Fronde Anywhere was short-listed for the TUANZ Innovation Awards. The service was delivered in 2004 as a joint initiative between Fronde Anywhere, Vodafone New Zealand, and Cash Handling Systems, with all parties retaining ownership of their intellectual property.

The initiative involves New Zealanders being able to pay for parking using their mobile phone. It's the first of its type that requires no pre-registration by consumers, which allows for the immediate use of this world-leading solution.

It has been so popular that TXT-a-Park™ is now available in cities across New Zealand and operates as a nationwide, ubiquitous hub for mobile payments for parking services.

Each year the TUANZ Innovation Awards recognise and reward New Zealand innovation in telecommunications. However, innovation is not something that happens at a moment in time. The pace of technological advance is increasing and New Zealand must work ever-harder to succeed.

Awards are for products or services originating or provided in New Zealand. All awards place a premium on innovation, be it technical or commercial.
